Re: Roof Motors Advice - Bongo 2.5TD 1999

The spring loaded flaps are used to close the tent inwards when you lower the roof to make sure the material folds inwards. If the material isn't taught when fully raised and the beeps have stopped even with the Ignition ON then are you sure some one hasn't put the wrong size tent on, later version...

Re: Waeco PerfectPower PP1002 Inverter

Can I ask why your not using a 12v compressor fridge ? Using the inverter is not the best way forward ....."One other aspect to bear in mind is that inverters are not the best way to get the max from the battery, there usually quite poor efficiency wise unless your spending a lot of money, typ...

Re: Waeco PerfectPower PP1002 Inverter

Yes those are intended for caravans, where by your charging the battery in the caravan and possibly running the fridge whilst driving. They rely on the length of wiring from front of the car to the caravan to limit the charging current and then handle the fact that when on-site the car is disconnec...

Re: Roof Motors Advice - Bongo 2.5TD 1999

The little plastic bumps are actually the Limit Switches which tell the AFT computer where the roof is; there are two at the front/top one each side that operate when the sliders enter the black plastic shrouds that hold the roof locked down in the closed position, one each side to ensure that both...

Re: Fuel Consumption Calculators

How I calculate it is: I fill up until it clicks, knowing I'm full. I reset the trip clock and the next time I fill up to full I take readings of the amount of Liters fill and the trip journey. After that its this: [Distance in KM] [Liters filled] / [Price Per Liter] / [Cost in £] [Liters Filled] / ...

Re: Waeco PerfectPower PP1002 Inverter

Haven't a problem since! In fact I took the old battery out and charged it off the wall a few times and TBH, I think it's okay now. It was this little unit which was messing me up: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07P1H93B3?ref=em_1p_0_ti&ref_=pe_2443661_667574411 https://i.postimg.cc/c4dM2D...

Re: no power to my fridge

hi, I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on why there is no power to my fridge. the fridge has been working and the fuse seems to be okay, I don't know if anybody has had the same trouble in the past and they could share some tips on where to start to look for faults in the power source....

Re: Roof Motors Advice - Bongo 2.5TD 1999

See this picture older style with lower roof behind and the newer Aero style in front. IMG_20210706_130435.jpg The newer version has the dark moon window at the front top of the AFT. Nice, that's helpful - mine definitely does not have a dark moon window. So I think I'll go ahead and get the old st...

Re: Waeco PerfectPower PP1002 Inverter

There really isn't any reason why using the EHU would have caused problems, the only thing that is possibly adjustable in a charger plugged into the EHU is its voltage and the range it can be adjusted over (normally an internal adjustment anyway) is limited and well within the range that wouldn't h...

Re: Roof Motors Advice - Bongo 2.5TD 1999

Provided your not the Aero style ones where the roof lifts higher, SGS have those as well see the main advert page for Bongo's https://www.sgs-engineering.com/car-boot-tailgate/mazda/bongo See, that's the thing, I honestly don't know. I sent them all the measurements and thought what they were goin...

Re: Roof Motors Advice - Bongo 2.5TD 1999

Why did you not replace the gas struts with the original type S10K56940B from SGS ? https://www.sgs-engineering.com/gsc1639-mazda-bongo-roof-strut Which is the right type for the AFT itself ? It had something to do with the part numbers. My original part number on the strut was S52H 56 940 and afte...

Re: Roof Motors Advice - Bongo 2.5TD 1999

The raising and lowering of the roof is always accompanied by 'bleeping', fitting the wrong struts seems to be your problem and nothing to do with your motors either considering they raise the roof into position, its the struts holding them there. Sorry, to be clear, the 'bleeping' remained even wh...

Roof Motors Advice - Bongo 2.5TD 1999

Hi there, Seeking some advice on my roof motors. I had messaged in and amongst another thread regarding the roof but that was regarding the struts. Due to the constant bleeping noise [when the roof is in motion] I replaced the struts through SGS Engineering [Item Code GSV 10-450 - Adjustable Force G...

Re: Waeco PerfectPower PP1002 Inverter

Agreed, and tbh that's what the Mech said too (just didn't want to hop all over my well-kept van getting it dirty!). I'll try and report back with findings for the future reference of any other members! Thanks for your help! Mech took the battery out and charged it overnight, sustained beep noise f...
