Sorry for late reply,

AA towed Bongo to local garage that couldn't find the issue
Had to pay for towing to specialist garage that found a broken Cambelt.

Only had the belt replaced last year and done less than 1000 miles, garage can't explain what happen :|

Anyway just got it back last week

Is the shaft sensor easily accessible and could you direct me to it? Might as well have a quick look at it on the off chance.

Thanks will have a look, I am in West sussex, 30 min from Brighton. I will contact Bongo Mad on Tuesday to see if they can pop around.

Van is severals miles away from my nearest bongo specialist garage unfortunatly, I'll have to think about how to get it there.

Damned it sounds more complicated than I thought it would be, also forgot to mention that the OBD reported a P1562 error "Manufacturer control ...

No start - 2.0L petrol Friendee 2005

Hi guys,

Few weeks ago my bongo (2.0 L petrol 2005 Aero city runner) stopped sudently as I was slowing down at a roundabout and since then I can't start it.

Don't have much knowledge in cars but happy to learn and DIY. I have removed one spark plug and tried starting the engine with the plug ...

Disconnected the dashboard and fuse blew again so not coming from here.
I guess like HairyBeard did I should be disconnecting looms on both side (near glove box and close to gas pedal) that go to clusters, it would help me to figure out if short comes from the front or the back of the vehicule ...

Hum I see, well I am going to disconnect the dashboard in a minute and replace de fuse that blew and see if it comes from there.

Make sense now about continuity, thx for explaining.

Good to know about the LED, shame it made such a difference compare to the dull old bulb, will revert to old bulb. Do you think it could have melt a cable or blown a relay?

Evening guys,

Any progress on your issue HairyBear?
Got same issue on my 2005 Aero, changed the dashboard lights for can bus leds, worked for a couple of weeks and now no more back lights on dash board and tail lights gone too.

Are the tail lights ment to be on the boot door or on the side ...
