Re: Fault codes 10, 11, 12, 14 and 18(!?) - help needed, please!

Update:

Mechanic states that engine including the turbo are all good, just the EGR (since it was blanked of five years ago) needs to be removed from the software in the ECU.
The electronic specialist, however, has not been able to get the right software to do that.

When at operating temperature ...

Re: Fault codes 10, 11, 12, 14 and 18(!?) - help needed, please!

Update:

The Bongo has been with the mechanic for two weeks now. According to the them there is nothing wrong with it mechanically, just the ECU is playing up because the EGR system has been blanked off.

However, this was done five years ago and only now have those two error codes come up ...

Re: Fault codes 10, 11, 12, 14 and 18(!?) - help needed, please!

Next update:

I cleared the error codes by disconnecting both batteries (minus only) for 15 min. Directly after disconnecting them I pressed the brake pedal about 20 times to get rid of an excess electricity.

Then I connected both batteries again and checked for error codes using my paperclip and ...

Re: Fault codes 10, 11, 12, 14 and 18(!?) - help needed, please!

Update:

2004 2.5l TD

I must have read the diagnostics port LED flashes wrong at the beginning It should have been:
11 11 11 14 10 14 10 10 11 12 12 18 (with slightly longer breaks between each sequence of 2 x 4 flashes). I remember the longer pauses.

Looks like I have four-digit-error-codes ...

Re: Fault codes 10, 11, 12, 14 and 18(!?) - help needed, please!

One more info of today:

- I deleted all fault codes
- I drove the Bongo and before reaching standard temperature I stopped and checked for faults codes using my LED > none! and the glow symbol was not flashing either
- I drove on (never reaching more than 2,300rpm) and when the engine was at ...

Re: Fault codes 10, 11, 12, 14 and 18(!?) - help needed, please!

Thank you, Geoff!

I was also wondering if I have two-digit-codes or if they are four-digit ones after all since I keep getting that repeating sequence of 3x11 etc.

How would I be able to find that out?

Cheers

Dirk

Fault codes 10, 11, 12, 14 and 18(!?) - help needed, please!

Gidday folks,

I have a 2004 2.5l TD. After a few months w/o using the Bongo I went for a drive. Once she was at operating temperature I took her to the motorway and did two full accelerations up to 100 km/h.

Shortly afterwards the glow plug symbol started flashing regularly. After the engine had ...

Re: bleeding coolant WITHOUT bleeder pipe

Thank you, g8dhe!!

I have used the same colours as before.

Looks like my former bleed pipe is now attached differently, maybe to the heater system(?) (blue arrow leading into yellow arrow) while the metal thing on the top right (marked orange) has been detached.
What is this anyway?

There is a ...

Re: bleeding coolant WITHOUT bleeder pipe

Hi g8dhe,

Thanks a lot for that!

Looks like I still have a 3-way-spigot as seen in the pic attached.

Would you mind helping me understand a bit better my whole situation here?

1. Which number on the picture feeds the turbo, please? Number 2?

2. And the spigot outlet number 1 would usually ...

bleeding coolant WITHOUT bleeder pipe

Gidday people,

I have a 2004 Bongo Friendee with a 2.5l TD engine.

I remember I used to have a bleeder pipe, However, my former mechanic put a different thermostat into my Bongo to prevent it form overheating. Works quite well.
Yet, he seems to have removed the bleeder pipe.....

I have just ...

@g8dhe: Thanks for the hint. Yet, I do not understand as under "Members" I cannot find any factsheets.

Sorry, but I am a complete novice to this forum.

Where to fit diesel heater under passenger seat?

Hi there!

For a couple of hours I have trying to locate dandywarhol's diesel heater fitting help/guide using the advanced search - but unfortunately to no avail!

Thus, if anyone could post the link here, I would really appreciate this.

Cheers from New Zealand

Dirk
