I've only had an initial look but it does look like there are some options on the japanese auction sites with reasonable mileage. I'm not sure how this compares to years past. I have a contact over in Japan that I plan to work with to check the vehicle before committing to import.
Thanks for your ...

Invest in repair or fresh import
Hi,

Blown radiator(?) far from home - v6 stuck in switz
Hi folks,
Well we tried to dispel the ghosts of our last European misadventure two years ago (unbelievably frustrating hall sensor issue) but unfortunately have ended up on the side of the road yet again.
Good news is the issue appears to be (hopefully) more straightforward and radiator related ...

Re: Bongo Breakdown (Paris)
Thanks again for all the replies.
We still haven't been able to find the cause of the problem and feel like we have come to a dead end here in France. :(
Just to update, there appears to be two scenarios where the issue appears:
1. As per the original issue, on the motorway, putting the engine ...

Thanks for the replies! So just up update: One step forward, two steps back.
Helpful Mazda mechanic replaced the front fan motor and bypassed the air intake membrane/sensor (see pic) that was previously glue repaired and faulty(apparently). He thought this membrane sensor had caused the original ...

Bongo Breakdown (Paris)
Howdy folks! Love the forum!
Unfortunately, I'm reaching out in a time of need. Walter(2.5 v6 '99 Bongo) just threw his first proper wobbly on a motorway just outside Paris, at the start of our 10 day European adventure en route from cherbourg to chablis and beyond (switz was the idea but that ...

Re: Bongo Search - Guidance Appreciated!
Apparently these pictures were unwashed and after a trip to the beach which should explain the sand.
Apologies for the picture dumps btw. And really appreciate any advice here as I really don't know what I'm looking for.
This is a 2000 2.5 td 4wd with 80k miles with full side conversion. Looking ...

Re: Bongo Search - Guidance Appreciated!
Hi folks,
So the search is still on, but I've managed to narrow in on a couple of possibilities. However, given I'm doing the search remotely, I've had to rely on pictures to determine the extent of potential rust issues. So I'm wondering if the pictures below should cause any concern:

Re: Bongo Search - Guidance Appreciated!
Thanks for all the very useful replies.
In terms of rust, I'd like to get a better sense of the kind of issues to be aware of and the potential severity of these issues. Is it fair to assume that the wheel arches and sills will always need to be replaced eventually (i.e. it is just a matter of ...

Bongo Search - Guidance Appreciated!
Hi folks,
So I already feel like I'm a Bongo addict, and I don't even have one yet. I've been looking for a camper for a while and after coming across a Bongo recently and learning more about them, my mind is made up as it is exactly what I'm looking for. I went to see one that was available ...
