Re: 2.5 Diesel Oil Change - Sump Plug Washer
If it's a solid copper washer it should be good for years as long as it's in good condition and not too squished. I think the 'always fit a new washer' mantra comes from the crushable one-use sump plug washers you find on European cars Renault/Peugeot especially. They usually leak if you don't ...

Re: V6 wont start after cam belt change
Looks like just about everything's been covered but how about induction? A hand over a big intake pipe as close as possible to the manifold should produce a huge vacuum you can really feel even on cranking only.

Re: Oil Filter - What Size?
I've got a strap wrench which is good for oil filters with limited access but I've found simple oil filter pliers much quicker and better. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ADJUSTABLE-12 ... 3aa7383b8f

Re: Towbar
I will definitely fit a 13 pin socket. The Bongo will probably only ever have a towbar mounted bike rack which will come with a 13 pin plug I would think.
I have a 13 pin original fit socket on my own T5 Transporter and it's so much better than the wobbley old 7 pin push-in types! Mind you, it's ...

Re: overheating 2L petrol - any new ideas?
Blocked radiators usually weigh a bit more than the replacement, always gives you a good feeling that you are going in the right direction as you pick up the two together. :D The collapsing hose theory is a good idea. I've read here and elsewhere that the top hoses especially are prone to this. (Not ...

Re: overheating 2L petrol - any new ideas?
I think it would be worth getting the radiator flow-tested by a radiator specialist. There isn't really a reliable diy test. They don't often get blocked these days because modern coolants keep cooling system cleaner but it's possible and it could cause your symptoms. What mileage do you have on ...

Re: Towbar
Thanks for the replies. I've just been reading a bit more about the towbars. Being a grey import they don't need EU type-approval so as mentioned above there are some very poor versions about. I think I'll go with the one recommended here!

Towbar
Hi everyone, New member here! My daughter is shortly to be the proud owner of a new import '05 Bongo 2.0 and all work on the van from now on is going to be down to me.
Starting with a tow bar (7 pin electrics only). I have fitted quite a few tow bars over the last 43 years (retired ...
