Re: Engine woes

The thin black wires? They just go up into the door frame and are attached to a mini speaker-type thing that I presume was part of a previous owner’s hands-free kit.
We’re back to square one now with the engine not turning on at all, I’m thinking whatever electrical fault it has is now linked to ...

Re: Engine woes

Hi Geoff, yes I think it’s definitely an electric issue. I’ve posted about the speedo and rev meter previously and you suggested checking earthing point 7. I can’t seem to find a way in to the location - see attached. Do I just pull out the plastic at the end? It seems quite well attached and I don ...

Engine woes

HELP: tried to find a fix whatever is causing my speedo and rev meter to jump around yesterday. This includes making sure battery terminals were clean and tight. This morning when turning the ignition on (engine off) the glow plugs light gives a flash (sometimes once, sometimes 3 times) and the ...

Re: Electrical issues

Hello, I finally got round to taking a look at the Speedo chip today... the electrical circuit looks a bit of a mess (photos attached) - can anyone see an obvious issue? Could it be worth replacing the chip of should I try to replace the whole circuit (if so, where would I get one from??).
My other ...

Re: Electrical issues

Hi Rickster, that would be good, thanks. How much are you after for it? Does your odometer now read in km without the chip?

Re: Electrical issues

They’re now both randomly flickering since the garage tried to fix the speedo which had just died completely.
The fuel gauge worked fine (it has been previously earthed to the chassis) too until the speedo fix. So I feel there’s something going on behind the dash I just don’t know what!

Re: Electrical issues

Ooh, thank you, not *too* expensive! Think I'll start with the chip and see how I get on, if I can fix all my issues for £25 I'll be very happy

Re: Electrical issues

Thanks Geoff, that’s really helpful. Do you know where I can source a new chip?

Electrical issues

Hi, I’ve been having electrical issues for a while now, originally started as a speedo fault (it completely died), the garage attempted a fix but that resulted in the speedo and rev meter jumping around whilst driving and the fuel gauge being inaccurate. I returned to the garage and they thought ...

Speedo, Rev Counter and Fuel Gauge gone haywire

Hi, my speedo stopped working completely so I asked the mechanic doing the annual service in a July to take a look, he said he’s sorted it but now the speedo and rev meter jump about sporadically (with no change in speed or revs) and the fuel gauge only ever goes to half full and drops to empty and ...

Underseal

Hi, I'm thinking of taking up the Campervans4fun winter underseal offer that was mentioned in the Newsletter - has anyone used them before? Is it a good deal?
Or can anyone recommend somewhere not too far from Leeds?
Thanks Liz

Re: Which battery is which?

Ah thank you - I was leaning towards the other one for some reason!
I have a feeling I left something on that shouldn't have been in the back but I'm not sure what!
