Re: How to tell if a Bongo has ABS or not
Hi, sorry, I just seen "the Lairds" post. No, no light comes on. I have never had any brake judder however I must admit I do not think I have ever stamped on the brakes that hard. I will try it but I am thinking it's been disabled. I am concerned about opening up a can of worms.... :-(

Re: How to tell if a Bongo has ABS or not
Hi, yep, found it. It does not have the black covering on it but given it's says "Nippon ABS Ltd" it gives it away a bit. Shouldn't the ABS light come on when you first turn the ignition on and then go off once the engine has started?
Thanks

Re: How to tell if a Bongo has ABS or not
I am pretty sure I have not seen the pump as pictured on Ebay. I will double check though.
Thanks

How to tell if a Bongo has ABS or not
Hi all,
I have what may be a ridiculous question. I have a 96 v6 E-SG5W model. I looked up the model and ABS was an optional extra. I have no ABS light on the dash (none that I can see and none that lights up when I start the van). There is also no perceivable brake pedal judder either when I brake ...

Re: V6 rear axle needs replacing. Is the Diesel 2wd compatib
Looking at Lush projects, the rear Diff diagram does not differentiate between V6 and Diesel however there are "final gear" variations but I do not think there is much between them as they are grouped into different Chassis number ranges - for example "SGLR -113897 SGLW -112212 SGL3 -105785 SGL5 ...

Re: V6 rear axle needs replacing. Is the Diesel 2wd compatib
Hi northern bongolow, I just noticed your comment. I will try and loosen the breather. I did not believe LSD was fitted to any 2wd variants so I did not consider a different oil.
I have had a look around and thought I may switch the oil to Redline Heavy shockproof until I can find a suitable rear ...

Re: V6 rear axle needs replacing. Is the Diesel 2wd compatib
It's whining anyway, so it's probably on its way out. It may be a false economy to change the seals only to have to change it anyway.
If I do have to resort to that is there a "how to" guide anywhere on changing the seals. I noted the seal kits are expensive as well assuming I am looking at the ...

V6 rear axle needs replacing. Is the Diesel 2wd compatible?
Hi all,
About 3 months ago I acquired Bongo V6 with LPG. A bit of a project vehicle as it was a little rough around the edges. However it is turning into more of a project than I expected! There was a fairly quiet whine coming from the rear axle. I thought I would get the rear axle oil changed ...
