i had all the brakes changed on the bongo a few weeks back but just lately there's been a weird creaking noise coming from the front wheels when i put the brakes on. it only happens when i've almost come to a standstill. any ideas?

still haven't checked it as it's boiling here right now. it's squealing like mad on both sides now. if i had to change the back brakes is this a diy job? if so, will it be any harder than the drop links as they were a blimmin' nightmare

all knocking gone for now (touch wood).

one of my back wheels has started squeaking like crazy. i can't hear it in the car but people outside can hear it. all i can hear inside is a kind of wha-wha-wha-wha noise as if there's something stuck to the wheel. i'm wondering if it's anything to do with the brakes.

great, i'll try changing the bushes too then. i don't think it's anything dangerous, just annoying. it's a knocking noise when i'm driving. it'll go fine then i'll go over a pothole and it'll start knocking for a while then stop again until the next pothole.

ooooh i didn't know that! i've just tightened them up (not on the ground unfortunatley) and one of them was pretty loose (the one i put on when my neighbour came to 'supervise' and i did it in a rush). no clonking yet but i'll tighten them on the ground to make sure and if it starts knocking again i ...

i finally managed to change the front ones myself. they were a complete mare to remove and after an afternoon of cursing, bruised arms, bruised elbows etc i cadged an angle grinder off a neighbour and cut the damn things off.
i popped the new ones on and everything has been wonderful for the past 3 ...

we had the same problem with our old toyota van. we used whitening toothpaste which worked a treat and stuck some brighter bulbs in for good measure.
