Re: Dreaded coolant leak

Definitely worth getting it sorted, just make sure they know how to bleed it. Yes! They replaced a couple of hoses last year and replaced the coolant on a major service. When i got time I'm going to work out how much its cost me in a year, really beginning to think if its worth it though I kne...

Re: Roof issue

As a matter of interest what would the experts on here recommend as to how often the roof should be raised to keep it in good form.I have only raised(and lowered of course)mine twice in a year.I have oiled it etc though.

Re: Dreaded coolant leak

Does the TM1 you have fitted got the low coolant add-on or is it just a temperature gauge? Bear in mind that a short journey may not give it a chance to get to a temperature where a lack of coolant is apparent. For it to have dropped in the first place indicates there is a leak that needs to be fix...

Re: Dreaded coolant leak

If your tank was not empty then you should be o.k. ... However....the comments regarding bleeding if the garage have to drain the coolant do still apply.. Fit a low coolant alarm for preventative peace of mind. I have one of your tm1 which is how I knew there could be a problem....eng temp normally...

Re: Dreaded coolant leak

Sounds like the level dropped below the header tank, in which case I would (and did) get it recovered on a flat bed. Seems like you may have caught it so don't crack the head for the sake of a few quid. Others may have different views. 8) Thanks for the reply! Strangely enough when I checked coolan...

Re: Breakdown cover

Its strange how certain companies seem to stop breakdown cover when the vehicle reaches 16 years old. [-X Ive just bought a 1959 F100 Ford pickup truck, classed as a classic, and the breakdown cover is included in the insurance policy for the all in price of £200 a year  =D> I've got insuran...

Re: Breakdown Insurance

So, who should I do my next years breakdown insurance with. Currently with RAC which cost £114 last year but wanted £157 this year until I challenged it then they put me across to customer wotsit who revised it to £127. These figures are re for roadside repair/recovery and onward travel. So I went ...

Re: bongo insurance

Thanks to previous poster that recommended Admiral multi car policy. We have just saved £500+ insuring our Bongo and car with them. We were quoted £400 ish for our unconverted Bongo by by Lifesure, Adrian Flux etc. Admiral were less than £150 including all the extras! They were also pleasant to dea...

Re: Glow plug light(lack of)

if it has a fault on the charging system, (my previous question) someone may have removed the bulb and installed a non standard buzzer to say the plugs are ok but covers up the annoying flashing glowplug light, possibly thinking it may affect an mot test. if this turns out to be the case shout agai...

Re: Glow plug light(lack of)

This might sound stupid but, have you checked the Bulb. No,I just assumed the bulb was u/s and i meant to get the auto elec to look at it but I forgot.I had a coolant alarm fitted which displays the temp at exact same time as relay click/beep so no need for light really, the beep was there before I ...

Re: Glow plug light(lack of)

i would test the voltage at the plug rail just to be sure they are working. the glow plug light is a dual purpose light, it also acts as a fault warning light for the charge system if it on an early bongo. has yours got a split charge system fitted. Thanks!Yes its a split system. Had it checked by ...
