airbag warning light on permanently

Post by bluefirs » Tue Aug 16, 2016 12:30 pm

One morning I started up the Bongo as normal but the airbag warning light stayed on.
It is still on and does not flash.
Any suggestions?

I had the light come on, can't remember if it was solid or flashing but it was a loose connection on the control box. Mine was located under the cubby hole, in front of the gear stick (might have been blue!).

Someone will be along with better info but that might be an easy fix.

If the ABS computer identifies a problem it flashes the light, the fact that its on all the time might mean the computer has failed its startup routines, but not heard of it coming on all the time before, might check the manual in a minute and see what it says.

It happened to me and turned out to be the clock spring. Does the horn work OK? If it doesn't, that is the most likely reason.

Might be worth disconnectin the battery, leave it for 5/10 mins before hooking back up.

Safer if you disconnect the earth (do this first if replacing the battery, and connect last).
