Hello all,
Any recommendations for tyres for our Bongo?
The size I'm after is 225 / 55 R17
I'm particularly keen on good off road performance even if it means a bit more noise down the motorway. You'd know why if you'd been with me at the weekend. The Bongo was one of the few vehicles that didn't need a tractor to tow it out of a muddy field - but we only just made it.
Currently we have Nankang Surpax SP5 which were good and a candidate when it comes to a replacement but they're not quite off roady enough.
Also in the running are Kumho KL51 Road ventures
The Bongo has AWD and the rear limited slip differential.
Thanks.

i bought a set of these matador winter van tyres direct from germany, the reviews were good and they can be left on the bongo all year round as the compound is good for all year round, and as the bongo is a plodder not a speed bus i should get good miles from em.

look who owns em. then price one of continental vanco winter equivalents
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matador_(company).
so far i am really impressed, price and quality very good.
this listing is just an example but it is for 2 summer tyres.

Hi.
Thanks for the reply.
They look good tyres.
However, the options when it comes to the size I need are generally quite limited when it comes to off road. The 4x4 tyres tend to favour a higher profile that the 225 / 55 I need.

I've run these, Avon Ice Tourers,
year round, for 4 years. Won't use anything else.
