Poorly Bongo
Hi,
Looking for some advice today please.
My Bongo has failed it's MOT test on a number of things but mainly;
''Offside sub frame attachment bracket mounting likely to become detached corroded + holed''
2 different garages haves quoted me in excess of £1000 to carry out the repairs.
There are several other things that it failed on and I have sadly decided that I cannot afford the repairs so I have decided to sell it.
The van is a silver 2.0 litre petrol version from 1998, imported in 2009, 125,789 miles.
It starts first time, every time and drives really well and the interior is in great condition.
One of the garages has offered me £700 as it is.
I am wondering what Bongo's in this condition sell for?
Any advice would be great.
Thanks in advance.
Jamie

Re: Poorly Bongo
Camper vans are in high demand just now, so I suspect you'd get your money back by having the work done then selling.
Otherwise it's worth contacting the breakers such as Bongo Spares and Ian Taylor.
Sorry to hear Bongy is unwell.

Re: Poorly Bongo
What is an offside subframe I can’t picture it
Re: Poorly Bongo
I'm reading it as 'offside bracket' which holds the sub-frame, but could well be wrong.

Is it a tin top

Hi Bob,
Thanks for the reply.
Unfortunately I cannot afford to have the work carried out which is very gutting.

E Mail is likely best:

https://www.japcarimport.co.uk/
Allan, in Plymouth occasionally breaks them, too.

Hi,
Have you spoken to someone who specialises in vehicle welding rather than a garage?. When I have needed any welding carried out I have always had a very expensive quote for the garage.
There is normally a small company locally who will carry out the repairs much cheaper than the garage.
I am guessing from your username that you are based in Cornwall? and quick Google search brings up these guys https://www.jgwelding.co.uk/
I have no connection to the company and have never used there services just wanted to point out that there are companies out there that can carry out welding much cheaper than the local garage. Good luck with whatever route you decide to go
