Ben (or any Bongo tribalist come to that) carrying on as normal - isn't that a contradiction in terms?

Re: Club Deficit
Hi Ian...as a life member who does not pay for membership I would gladly pay my membership fee even with the increase...we cannot have Bongoland subsidising the club as they are totally separate concerns
If members look at the price list for Lickhill camp site and compare what we pay for the bash then with just one meet you could save the membership fee.....
The value of this club is well worth more than the membership fee...and long may it continue...
See you at Looe
Alan

Whoo...looking at my number of posts after 13 years membership I am approaching 1000 posts...
Mind you I will be long gone before I catch up with Bill and Ben....
I hope you two are OK and long may you post on here....

I'm on top form, thankyou Alan.
Re: Club Deficit
I spoke to a few people at Looe, and have received some more emails about this matter. A lot of comments were made about receiving a paper copy of the newsletter in the post; I didn't know it was so popular! So we are now of the opinion that we will keep all 3 categories of membership (web, webplus, postal) and put the subscription fee up for all of them by £1 a year. Webplus and postal members will continue to receive a copy of the newsletter in the post. So the new rates will be £15/£18/£21.
All members will also continue to receive monthly updates by email if an address has been supplied.
Upon renewal, unless otherwise stipulated, a new membership card will be posted but no accompanying glossy brochure. "Life" members do not require a new membership card each year.
New members (but not renewals) currently receive a sticker and this will continue.
All rallies & meetings will be self-financing (no cross subsidies).
Finally, new members in the web category will not now receive the latest newsletter in their information pack but will be directed to the relevant section in the members area so they can download a copy.
Together these measures should (hopefully) cut the club deficit. I will still take further comments on board but hope to introduce the new arrangements on 1st January.
Thanks for your input.

Good things happen when we put our Bongo heads together.
Allans now closed. In Plymouth, use PGS (Plymouth Garage Services) or Mayflower Auto Services

And we all know to treat our Bongo heads respectfully.
Re: Club Deficit
I have a web plus membership and always keep some back issues of the paper edition in the van with me to give to Bongo owners I bump into (in a manner of speaking) if they are not already members.
Whether this has ever resulted in a new membership is not something I know but no harm in trying!

Re: Club Deficit
A little late coming in on this one but, £1 increase is not going to hurt especially when I have just saved money with Lifesure insurance by quoting my membership number.
I am not always right but, I am never wrong!
