Good news on the traffic front. Phoned Beaulieu Events Department. The Pistonheads group will be coming from the Lyndhurst direction at 9.30 am. They do not expect any traffic problems after this at all. No disruption near the Royal Oak at all. The Museum does play host to big gatherings all year and this one of the smaller ones.
The Pistonheads website gives likely attendance as 200. Not a problem on a Sunday as the surrounding roads are fairly good. The main bottleneck is getting through Lyndhurst, but it is winter and this is mainly a Summer problem.
Hope this is not famous last words, but we look OK. Just bring something warm as it is freezing here and the Royal Oak is on open forest, so quite windy. Its a beautiful day here, blue sky, bright sun but like stepping into a fridge. The mud has dried out so all should be good for campsites.

Yes, looking at the website. As long as you don't burn proper wood!! And off the ground.umbongocat wrote:Are we allowed a raised fire with heat logs not proper wood? If so I've got a raised fire bowl and can get some heat logs on route

Is it likely that all bongos will be together at Setthorns...
not rallied before.... do these things ...occur.... or does
some mighty omnipotent Being work it out?

Its up to the site where everyone is placed. It is a large site with no phone reception. Was up there earlier and it is very confusing. I will ask the warden to put all Bongos together tomorrow.
Easiest way to find it is from the A35. follow directions given on the website.

For those coming to Setthorns, the campsite area is oaken bottom. For those looking for us there will be a white motorhome with an awning registration starting EU and my green and silver striped Bongo with a brown Quecha, registration MYD.
Additional information there is a good chippie in Brockenhurst and the Queeens Head in Burley does good food.

Further warning to all. The signing is non existent and I got horribly lost on the site last night and ended out in the forest on a track. Its a lovely place but badly signed and not good in the dark. Plus it is spectacularly cold. No phones at all, just a red phone box.
The Royal Oak is very different, main road, fires and no problems. So see you there, or at Setthorns.
