Re: Ciggy Ports

Thanks everyone - I really appreciate it. I only checked the front socket but it's only recording 4.33v so I've got an issue with the connection somewhere! Details as requested: 95 plate I do have a leisure battery (+ the original) The radio and electric mirrors still work when the sockets do not. N...

Re: Ciggy Ports

Thanks sortal. I haven't got a multimeter, wire or a bulb. As I say, I am content to try as I am always willing to learn, but haven't touched electrics since I was in school... I'll go and buy a cheap multimeter from Screwfix tomorrow. If I'm not getting 12v to that point, what's the next step? Thanks

Re: Ciggy Ports

Well, it wasn't the fuse so it has to be the link, right?

My local maplins only does 5/15/30 - no 10amp.

Will any of them suffice?

Re: Ciggy Ports

Thanks everyone. Geoff - I'm willing to try and sort out. Should I remove the original fusible link or just wrap some more around it? I saw a lot of items that had additional wires coming out of them - I assume that's to make them light up? Was unsure how that would fit in the dash as the hole is on...

Re: Ciggy Ports

Thanks Geoff.

As someone who is not electrically savvy but willing to give something a try, what's the best thing to do?
Do as you suggested or can I buy a new socket all together?

Nothing immediately obvious on eBay or the shop.

Thanks,

Andy

Ciggy Ports

Evening all, I've started trying to fix my ciggy ports seeing as we are going to Scotland soon for two weeks. They worked a few years back but randomly stopped working. I had a look at G8's (thanks for this) instructions but I have not been unable to fix. I've replaced the top right fuse (no.8) with...

Re: My Exhaust just fell off....

Thanks chaps. I really appreciate the quick responses. Mike, that sure looks like the part that I need. I'll buy it and attempt to do it myself. Sorry to ask, but can you link me to the other parts that I need (bolts etc) to finish the job. Just one of these? eBay 131812667391 Also, I'm not 100% sur...

My Exhaust just fell off....

So, uhhhh, yeah  Got half way to my grandparents 7 miles away. Wondered what the rattling noise was.... Turns out the exhaust had sheered off on the join to the muffler! This van is just the gift that keeps on giving! What do I do? Are the parts available in this country? Do I buy part of the...

Cheers Bob.

Good to hear from you again. How is your little place going since we met?

Did you take out your rear seats too?

Thanks for the Stourport rec - Is this the next bash?

Swivel seats (F+P)

Hello everyone, I hope you are all well - Been offline for quite sometime.... I'm really interested in the swivel seats. Currently have an unconverted AFT but find that we lack space when away camping. Can you use the front seats and the middle bench to sleep? Or is there a gap between the seats whe...

Beautiful! All fixed.

Thanks Geoff.

Looks like the mechanism was getting stuck. I'll clean and re-grease.

Have a great weekend!

Side Door - Micro Switch

Hello everyone, Long time, no post. Decided to keep the Bongo after the Tour de France break in but have been left with a side door issue post-insurance claim fix. In short, the garage handed me back the vehicle and the side door stopped working. I returned it and they fixed it. This has happened ag...

Re: Camping Chairs

Thanks for the reply. That's pretty comprehensive!

Like you said, it will be for eating/reading/chilling out etc.

Is it worth paying extra for chairs that pack down well?

Re: Admiral massive confusion over what a Bongo is

Use Admiral myself. Swapped the insurance from my old car to my bongo, no problem.

May be different for the Ford equivalent?
