Cylinder Head Gasket Sealant

Advice needed! The Bongo workshop manual tells me I need to use SH780 Sealant when replacing my cylinder head. Not actually on the gasket, but in front of it.

Does anyone know what SH780 sealant is? No one I have asked has any idea what it is. Would Red Hermetite do?
I wonder what Declan Hicks who wrote the really useful information sheet on changing the cylinder head gasket used.

Any advice would be welcome.

Thanks

I'd use Hylomar.......red Hermatite sets hard, Hylomar stays semi pliable DB (are the hills calling? )

I didn't use any sealant on mine! Don't take that to mean you shouldn't though. I'm not a mechanic just poor, so followed the factsheet...it didn't mention sealant so I didn't use it! I sort of remember someone somewhere saying you shouldn't use a sealant on head gasket though.

Anyway mines done 5K since repair with no probs, I have developed a paranoid 'check the temp gauge' twitch though, which makes some women feel uncomfortable in conversation!

I think quite a few of us are experiencing the "twitch" I know I am after many sleepless nights hoping the head wasn't cracked ££££££ mine ended up being a pinprick hole in the top hose but I still check coolant daily just in case and watch the temp gauge as much as the speedo (am I sad Or a muppet or what)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
