18 inch tyres - Help Please.

Tried asking in Pimp my Bongo - no answers in 3 days. Spent 3 hours looking through search facility, but hope to order some tyres tomorrow.
What I would like to know is if anyone has fitted 245 section tyres and any problems with scuffing. I have bought a set of rather bling chrome RX8's and would like to put on a set of tyres that give a rolling circumference at least the size of the originals and at a sensible price with correct loading.
I can get 245/45/18 and wonder if anyone else has this size fitted.
Seem to recall seeing a post by Bigdaddy, but through search blindness I cant find it again.
Thanks in advance.

I think it may be, although I have already seen it twice today  . Just trying to make sure I dont want to spend £250 on tyres that dont fit.
I know the standard 215/65/15 has a 26in diameter, and my 215/55/17 have 26.3in dia.At 26.7in dia they are not much taller, but 245 is a good old width.
Seem to recall someone mentioning 255's rubbed, but cant find it again.
Thanks Ian.

Hi madmile, have got 245's on my RX8's... no rubbing at all. My bongo is on standard suspension.
Could you post some pics on pimp my bongo when the wheels are fitted please? I,m curious to see the chrome versions on a bongo

we've got 255/35/20 on ours, and we did have to have a bit of bodywork trimming off, not sure how much mind, as the guy that did it fitted a bodykit at the same time.

We've just had 235/40/18's fitted on all four corners of our 2WD - handles great and feels much more stable than when we had 15'' wheels on.
