drivers door panel removal

hi all,
i need to replace the drivers door lock (somebody used the wrong size screwdriver to break in) i got the door lock from tom at bell hill (good man!) so now i need to know how to remove the door panel and i know that i can rely on all you sages out there to come to my rescue. thanks in anticipation.

actually i did try the search so i will say no more. also, i dont have full access to the site because i dont have a home pc( i moved) and your server wont talk to my works server( or it would if you sold viagra or penis enlargements!)so i havnt had the password in months, are you still doing doing airports? let me know when you get to speke! ( thats john lennon airport in liverpool)

You don't need to unclip the rod off the interior door handle; if you've undone the screws in the handle, it can be fed through its hole as you lift the panel away by gently twisting it a bit.

When refitting the panel, lower the window first as it makes it easier. As for the plastic door liner, be wary of the black mastic that fixes it on, its a total git to get off. I was wearing latex gloves and the twang as I pulled my hand away truly stung!
