No blower at all

Hi
How freely should the blades turn on the heater fan? Mine was very stiff(the fan!) and after stripping(the fan!) and WD40 it now turns with a little pressure. I also measured the voltage getting to the connection and it reads 3V so would I be right in guessing a resistor fault aswell?
Cheers
Donald

*Edit* There are five pins on the unit there is only continuity on one pair
The far left of the row of three, and the near right of the row of two.

Just an update for those who are interested

I got a heater fan motor unit (without blade) and a heat resistor from Central Motors, Kilburn, London. Delivered to Sutherland for £127 delivered next day(did not get it next day but did not expect it!) . Now fitted - five minute job, and both working well, tried fan first but still no joy, so replaced both fan and resistor now back in action and not worried about windscreen misting

I delt with Tariq (sorry if I spelt name wrong ) and he could not of been more helpfull. If anyone interested phone number for them:-

Cheers.
Donald.

Hi brorabongo
Glad you got it sorted. I guess, from the lack of replies, that nobody has ever measured the voltage before.

Excellent news brorabongo - now don't forget to keep that windscreen drain unblocked so water cant back up and spoil the replacement unit 8)

yep tested drain hose with a wee jug of water and all seems ok.

But it is a good tip to keep a check on it

Good man. I think I suffer from occasional dyslexia. Nearly read your post as checking it with a jug of wee. I dunno, you Scots
