which size glowplugs I need without removing one of them in the first place?
With the nights getting colder now I need to change my glowplugs as the old ones are past their best.
I obviously want to order the right plugs before taking everything to bits only to find out that I have the wrong ones.
How can I tell which length plugs I need. As far as I am aware it has to do with the height of the rail but maybe someone can shed some light on it.
How can I tell...

tried the e mailing chassie no,s and stuff recently in an attempt to obtain this information to no avail ,eventually got sick of it and went out and slackened of the right hand side of the rail and removed right hand plug ,measured and returned said plug to orifice
: ,pretty straight forward but you need a long reach socket

I measured the distance from where the plugs come out of the engine block up to the glowplugrail. This seems to be around 3.5cm. If I add the thickness of the rail and a bit more for the fixing nut then I would say that the whole plug sticks out by at least 4.5cm if you include the thread.
Now if there is anyone who knows which glowplug length they have fitted to their engine could they maybe quickly measure how far the rail is fitted above the engine block. I measured alongside the right hand plug from where it leaves the engine block up to the black rail.
This way I can hopefully determine what plugs I need without having to take one out and bend rails etc.
