Bongo Fury

Hello folks,

Following the recent spell of fog I have discovered that my rear fog light does not work. I have checked all the wiring and it appears to be ok, but I still do not have power at the lamp end. There is an inline fuse which although is 15A (I'll change it for a smaller one , it does work.

Can anyone tell me which wire should the rear fog light switch be wired to? I assume it would be a feed from the side lights or head lights, but I am unsure and do not want to guess. When I operat the switch it does light up but alas no power to the lamp.

Then there is a dodgy connection between the switch and the bulb! Are you sure the bulb is OK? that would be my first port of call.

I think the fog light will only come on if the main/dip headlights are on so the feed will probably originate from there, wherever it is. Not much help but something to go on.

As this is a uk addition I'm afraid that no one will be able to give you definitive advice on how this is connected. this will require some investigation by yourself. The feed should indeed be conditional on the main lights being on and not the side lights. I would imagine that the easiest way would be to scotch lock off the main feed from the front or rear lights, then take the cable "through" the switch and down to the foglamp and then earthed at the nearest piece of "good earth"

Happy hunting. I think it's ok to test live but i recommend that you disconnect the battery before disconnecting /carrying out repairs to cables etc especially after noting your Username!!

I have located the offending wire and indeed, it has a broken connection, lamp now works fine. It is connected to the feed from the headlights and only operates when the headlights are on.

Once again the forum has come to the rescue.
