Bongo Fury

my bongo has been resting and needed jump starting but after a decent run out seemed fine.it has 2 batteries and all the internal electrics worked fine.but now every thing seems dead.I have been told that the rainwater drain sometimes blocks and overflows.has anyone heard of this blowing anything?It has been absolutely perfect up to this point.Is there anything I could check easily.It only seems to have happened since it has been sitting on a steep drive?

If the rain water drain (under the windscreen in the middle) gets blocked the water will probably run into the heater motor electrics and blow the wiring when you turn the heater on.
If you are unable to jump start the car then the battery is probably totally flat if not knackered from an internal short. (assuming good contacts on the terminals--remove and clean to make sure)
Try trickle charging for 48 hours and see what happens.
If (assuming good contacts) the trickle charger shows nothing on the ammeter for a couple of hours after you start charging then the battery has more than likely a dead short internally. New battery needed (but take it off and have it tested by an auto lekky first.
The trickle charger should start almost as high as possible on the ammeter and then the needle should go down slowly as the battery is charged. it probaly will not go back to zero. If the battery is absolutely flat the ammeter may take a bit of time to rise from zero, but should do so within a couple of hours.

took it for a spin topped old batteries up started fine again. waiting to see results this morning as had to leave the bongo with a mate .everything appears to be working apart from the side door won't open .I'm thinking the magnets aren't releasing as the central locking "sounds" like its working.would this be draining the battery and how would you test for a drain?

Maybe you need to connect with the other thread currently running on the Forum about sticking doors. I've just commented on the other thread that I feel I've read a Forum thread on this problem and that it offered some help (however my memory is faulty these days so...). Have you searched?

I vaguely remember that disconnecting the engine battery and then reconnecting seems to cure door locking ills.

I've just posted to the other thread that mikeonb4c mentioned ("side door wont open"). Disconnecting the battery did indeed cure my doorlocking ills, but only after getting the door open manually...
