front climate control

Has anyone come across this?
I have a digital climate control display, and you have to increase the temperature to over 29 before the air coming out is slightly warm, even in summer. It is not truely hot till 32..

The rear heater control works as normal, low is cool, medium heat is medium heat and hot is hot!

The system has no air locks as far as I know, and no water leaks, and engine temp stays just under half way.

Any suggestions?

Mine is exactly the same.

I'm hoping that more people report this so I can stop worrying. Something in the calibration I assume. Maybe an old thermocouple?

Anyone else?

Ours warms up happily at a lower setting, 23 is normally quite hot but then suddenly there will be cold air coming through and you have to up the setting. I've always assumed that this is because it's reached the required temperature and therefore cut off the heat, but is that right?

I take it that the engine has reached normal operating temperature otherwise it will blow cold. ( I am not being sarcastic honest). I find it will blow hot if you press the air con button twice, once will show econ and the second time will switch it off and hot air should come through, normally accompanied by that warm radiator water smell, if peeps know what I mean. I have always thought mind that the bongo heater is slow compared to a real ford one. Happy motoring.

Mine seems to be the same. There is a point about 30 where the air changes from slightly warm to nice & hot. I guess it must be the point at which the valve fully opens.

good to hear someone else has come across this.. it appears that airflow through the top vents doesn't respond to the heat temperature adjustment as well as top vents + footwell vents, where the temperature control works as you would expect.

CLIMATE CONTROL

I've worked out that there is no way to manually set the temp without putting the auto system on (at least fan on low but any position will get the setting you want).
Once I get the required heat coming out I turn off the auto system.

When I first got the van it took me sometime to work it out but there is no way to set the heat/cold settings without putting auto on first.
