Hi all, new on here!

I have 51 plate import Bongo. All was fine but the ABS dashboard light came on a few months back. It will not clear. Obviously failed the MOT and has had new rear ABS sensors and replacement ABS pump. The light went out for 5 minutes after the pump was replaced but back on now!!! Flash codes 13 and 43 were showing before the pump was replaced. Now the 13 has cleared but 43 remains. I can’t find anywhere what 43 means! Any ideas anybody as currently I can’t get a MOT so off the road. Thanks in advance.

Welcome aboard!

Yes not all codes seem to be listed however 44 is noted in this discussion and normally 43 might be the righthand side sensor https://igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/vie ... 07#p630907 Might be worth checking that the two new rear sensors are both operating and connected to the control module by checking the resistance at the module ?

Hi, used to have a Ford Ranger, which also had an annoying ABS warning / code 43. After much messing around, replacing sensors with main dealer I sorted it myself.... It was actually error codes (4) and then code (3), which from a ford forum post found those meant ABS sensor/connector error and then the location respectively. From memory it was front offside to rear axle circuit. Eventually found a broken wire to the one of the ABS speed sensors on rear axle.

Not sure if that's helpful, but these diagnostics codes tend to be generic.

Thanks for the replies, no luck so far. Some people have mentioned possibly rust build up on magnetic speed sensors on the wheel bearings? The Bongo doesn’t get driven regularly so does that sound feasible at all??

Not sure about rust, the parts are exposed obviously underneath so might be worth taking a look and cleaning them if you have access to them under the vehicle.
