ECU fuse blows and engine stops when accelerating, help please!

Hi folks, first post here on the forum. We have a 1995 Bongo which we’ve owned since October. Two days ago I broke down after the engine just stopped whilst accelerating up a hill and called the AA. After diagnostics, he found the ECU fuse under the dash had blown. He replaced it and I drove away, asked the accelerator for more power going uphill and it blew again. I have absolutely loads of spare fuses but I got home okay.
Today I've had a play and it seems it is drivable when you first get going so long as you don’t put your foot down too much. If you do, in a ‘low’ gear, that fuse goes. I spoke to a Bongo specialist who reckoned getting an auto electrician might be the way forward, it is there anything I could do? I understand that fuse (2nd row down, first on the left, 15Amp) is on the same circuit as the fuel pump, ECU and transmission? Any help, much appreciated, cheers!
