Stereo - double to single din

Hi,

Our Bongo has a crappy double din radio that I want to replace with a Pioneer single din unit I’ve already got.

I’ve got the double din one out, pioneer one hooked up, all working as expected.

My issue now is I’ve got a big hole in my dashboard. I’ve seen single din cubby holes that I can use, either above or below the new single din stereo - but is there a frame that I can get specifically to fit the Bongo to hold the two, the stereo & the cubby or is there another way round it.

I’ve got the cage for the pioneer, just not sure how best to fit it to keep it in place without a frame.

Thanks,
David.

The frames or cages are normally held in by simple bendable metal tags which you push outwards behind the holes to keep the frame in place, some also have a rear bolt hole that should align with the bolt hole mounted on the crossbar. Then you need the frame bezel that fits the frame and overlaps the hole neatly. Finally you add in the two single DIN units, you may also need to provide a narrow spacer bar in the middle to keep the two single DIN units correctly spaced within the 2-DIN frame.

Thanks for this.

What I’m hoping for is that someone knows where I can get something like this that fits the Bongo: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/353773449678 ... media=COPY

The openings in the dashboard in which the Frame/Cage fits varys a bit there available on eBay https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_nkw=2+din+cage
Some come with a selection of Bezels to fit the frame and gap in the dashboard, otherwise measure twice and check the stated dimensions of cage and bezel!!!
