Cambelt Replacement

Post by BongoBuyer » Tue Aug 09, 2022 4:19 pm

We have no idea when it was last replaced so it's next on the list to replace.

I went to ADS auto today (Bongo specialist in Bristol) and they told me it's £685 for 7 hours work, because they recommend changing the crankshaft and camshaft seals at the same time, otherwise if they go, i'd have to get another cambelt anyway.

Can I get by with just doing the cambelt? Already chunked out 780 today on various bits and pieces that need doing so was hoping to keep the costs down a bit!

Hi

I'm in Nailsea and have found ADS knoow what they’re about.

To state the obvious, of course you can reduce cost by not having work done.

Not sure which engine you have, but if it’s the V6 the labour to access the front end outweighs the cost of a few extra parts.

Otherwise ask a few Bongo specialist for a quote.

Thanks - I think it'll be one of those things we just bite the bullet and get done, at least it will see us through the ownership (hopefully).
