Air Conditioning

Post by TheLongRoad » Thu Jul 07, 2022 5:59 pm

Having a brain fuzz, does the engine coolant flow through the a/c radiator in front of the main radiator? I’d assumed the a/c radiator was independent of the engine coolant.

As the A/C radiator is just behind the grill it gets all the road salt and mine looks decidedly past it’s best. Would rather not have it dump all the engine coolant. 2.0 ltr petrol if that makes any difference.

No! There are two radiators! The front one is the air con refrigerant, the one behind it (can't see it till you take the air con air scoop off) is the coolant radiator, then behind them both are the cooling fans.

Thanks. Everything working fine at minute but I can see a new A/C Rad being required eventually.
