Are air con compressors serviceable. Mine was squeaking . I note the system has oil in it?? Or is it a case of replacement?

Re: Air con service?
There are several parts to the system;
First the belt drive itself, this then turns a clutch which is operated by electricity to couple the turning shaft to the compressor itself, this clutch is known to make a noise if the bearings are failing, the compressor itself compresses the gas/oil refrigerant mixture which is what does the cooling, the oil ensures that the actual compressor is lubricated internally.
You need to identify just which part is making the noise and then replace that part ideally, otherwise obtaining the a complete compressor and clutch and replacing the lot is another route but the size of the pipework to the compressor has changed over the years so you would need to ensure you get the right part number not just a "air con compressor"
