Hi all,
Completely new to this forum stuff but I really need some help!
I've got a 2001 2l bongo and the hold light has started flashing. I've read the codes but they don't seem to make much sense to me. I'm not sure if I'm looking at 4 digit codes or the older two digit ones? I've read the fact sheets but just can't determine any code that makes sense.
I've noticed that it doesn't go into overdrive (5th gear). All the other gears work fine and change smoothly.
I can't attach a video so I'll run through the sequence of what I'm seeing:
2 sec flash
short gap
4 quick flashes
long gap
2 sec flash
short gap
3 quick flashes
long gap
2 sec flash
long gap
2 sec flash
short gap
7 quick flashes
long gap then repeats
Any advice or just a pointer in the right direction would be really good!
Thankyou!
Robbo

Re: ATX Fault code reading
Welcome aboard!
Given that the gearbox only has 4 gears you should be happy that it hasn't found a 5th one! What you may feel is what is referred to as Lockup where the Torque Convertor is locked out and the drive is direct thru from engine to gearbox itself See the manual http://www.g8dhe.net/bongo_images/gearbox/RC4AEL.pdf
As to the error codes difficult to say without doing it myself and knowing when the link is made etc to see the flashes even video's are difficult to interpret without the context!

Thanks for the reply g8dhe!
Lockup it is then!
With the codes then, do you know if they will be in 4 digit or older 2 digit format? Its a SGEW502 chassis, 52 plate.
It seems to be a tricky business trying to decipher the flashes!
Cheers

Re: ATX Fault code reading
Have you read the Factsheets in the members area they describe the codes for both types and there is also this site which covers the older 2-digit codes http://www.philmcfadden.co.uk/MazdaDiagnosticBox.htm
Re: ATX Fault code reading
Hi Geoff,
Yeah, I have read the factsheets but it doesn't make sense as I'm only getting numbers that don't seem to be recognised!
I think I might have to get someone to look at it and see what can be found. Who thought a little 'hold' light would be so difficult to interpret.
Cheers for the advice though
