The driver's door won't open normally. It goes to half an inch ajar, so I have managed to prise it open to enable me to get the card off from the inside. The key will not open it from the outside, nor will the catch work from the inside even with the pressie thing up. The central locking fob battery has been flat for some time so I have not tried using that.
Is this mechanical or electrical?

Re: Driver's door not opening
Sounds purely mechanical if its opening partly, if your not using the remote fob then there is no electrical element involved. As its catching then it sounds like the latch or catch plate is getting caught, either its loose or the door has moved within the frame. Has the door been strained with any gusts of wind catching the door recently, those can cause the "A" pillar to twist a fraction.

Nothing unusual has happened as far as I know. I am going to get the panel off and have a look. There seems no resistance on the catch.

Thanks Geoff, all sorted now. Took it apart and greased the catch. Saved a garage bill.
