Wing mirrors - with repeaters

Post by mwsp21 » Sat May 14, 2022 7:08 am

My 1998 2.5 V6 Petrol has just failed it's MOT because the repeater in the nearside wing mirror is broken. Everything else was absolutely fine!
I phoned my local Bongo specialists, and they were puzzled that the wing mirror had repeaters in them, they had never seen them and referred me to Bongo Spares. I spoke with a very helpful bloke there who expressed the same opinion - 'never seen them like that' he said.
So I am a bit stuck - has anyone here encountered wing mirrors with repeaters in them, and if so where / how to get them fixed / get a replacement? :? :(

Likewise never seen those built into the door mirror (you got a photo?) or are these actually mounted to the wing? One my 2002 the repeaters are part of headlamp cluster.

Most of these repeaters are clip on , very common not very expensive.

Thanks for the reply. They are part of the wing mirror itself - about half way up. I've got a photo - just need to figure out how to attach it!

Providing you can see the repeaters indicating from the side of the vehicle (wrap round ) its ok , they are usually on the wings or door mirrors.

All sorted. Took it to an auto electrical place - it is essentially a DIY job, and the wiring was shot to pieces. All working now, and MOT passed. Thanks for your help everyone!

Good news on getting through the MOT, still curious to see the mirrors with repeaters - they sound interesting 👍
