Front Cigar Socket Issue

Post by Ian » Fri May 13, 2022 4:11 pm

This posted on behalf of Barry who is having trouble logging in to Forum.

2.5TD AFT 4WD 1995. Was pumping up a tyre with 12v inflator plugged into front 12v socket when it died. I thought inflator was dead, but it's the 12v socket. Cannot find any blown fuse (have checked them all) and now 12v socket, horn and drivers window now not working. Radio (and passenger window) working fine. Any ideas?

Yes you have probably blown the fusible link on the rear of the socket itself;

Take the socket out and either bridge the fuse or cut it out and solder a thin wire across, there is a 15 Amp fuse covering the socket so its not a major problem.
