Intermittent ABS fault (light coming on)

Post by Wibbly » Fri May 06, 2022 9:17 am

Fault as above.

Local garage diagnosed as rear offside sensor fault (due to it being open circuit, whilst other sensors are low ohms).

Problems are twofold:
- They can't find a replacement
- They say the rear ABS senors often break on removal making what remains a big job to remove

I saw a thread about adapting other sensors to work on the Bongo, but not sure if this applies to a rear sensor.

Anyone any experience of this and/or recommend how to proceed given the two issues above?

All the actual sensors are the same electrically, its merely the mountings and cable lengths that vary between each one, so replacing them with other types will normally work and its just a case of finding/adapting the mountings and plugs to suit the cables. There are several threads and I think a Factsheet on various workarounds.
