Hi. I've got an eauto electrician here at the moment fitting a YOAD immobiliser to my Bongo. It should come in pretty much immediately the ignition is switched off, however, it is taking 9 minutes to engage.
Does anyone know if a Bongo continues to supply some power that would somehow cause this issue? I'm wondering about the small green lights near the ignition and cupholders. They are getting some short term power from somewhere, even with the ignition off.
Yhanks

Yes some vehicles have a timer built in to maintain power to the "location" lights inside the vehicle, its not shown on the diagrams at all! Its sounds like he has tapped into that supply rather than the ignition switched circuits to identify when the ignition goes off!

Thanks. The 5v is gradually dropping off over 10 mins, not suddenly switching off as if in a tumer, I wonder if this is some other issue. The electrician thinks he's ruled out the separate power supply to the small lights.

It really does sound like he has taped into the wrong supply feed!
Why is he looking at a 5v supply, the alarm will be expecting to powered from and signals from 12 volt sources!!
5 Volt sources are only for control logic like old TTL and CMOS chips, most circuits outside of control modules will always be 12 volt powered.

Thanks again. I'll pass the info on, this is well beyond my understanding now!
