Misfire /judder

What's the MPG like? Can I use chip fat and veggie oil? What about LPG?

Misfire /judder

Post by Bongotrio » Thu Dec 30, 2021 8:18 pm

Hi guys, not sure if this has been asked before, anyway we have a 2000 2l bongy and has been absolutely flawless, left it sitting on the drive for a month (weather has been useless) and now it judders under power and then suddenly kicks in. Drove it 12 miles and it happened twice! Last time i drove it a month ago i drove 2 hours and nothing, been gold the whole time so must be something to do with sitting for a month?? Thanks in advance. Dan.

This is an extract from the "Juddering" fact sheet in the members area of the main website:

On late edition 2 litre Bongos it is also worth checking that there are no problems with the Lambda sensor. This measures the correct oxygen mix required for fuel distribution and if faulty can send mixed messages to the ECU.

If you have left the vehicle sitting around for a while then the sensor may have got damp. And if the ECU thinks there is a problem with the fuel/oxygen mix this could cause the problem you describe.
