Front and back wheel arches fixed (?) differently

Looks like someone had a go (or ten) at Belinda’s wheel arches. The back has a plastic trim and plastic foil stuck on . Some plastic is screwed on, some appears to be held on with sticky tape (the smaller piece came off when I lightly prodded)! The front arches appear to be screwed on metal. Bit odd, right? I kinda want to pull off that silver foil and see what lurks beneath!
Put some money aside for a serious look or start learning on how to weld
