Glow plugs

Hi guys.
I have a 96 2.5 diesel. The engine has been running great however in the last few weeks it has been getting harder and harder to start but it’s turning over really well. I did some fault finding and established that all 4 glow plugs have failed, they are only 18 months old and done 5 maybe 6000 miles. Spare plugs popped in and starts first time as usual
First thought was the relay was stuck but the relay is good. I get voltage at the glow plugs until the engine gets up to running temp and then the voltage drops off. So I am assuming that the relay, Ecu and temp sensor is all good.
Looking at the glow plugs there is no visible pitting or damage.
Anyone have any suggestion to what the cause of all plugs failing at once could be.
Cheers
