Temperature control backlighting

Post by phillips321 » Fri Sep 11, 2020 1:32 pm

Hi all,

I've just picked up a new to me 1996 Mazda Bongo Camper and it has a few issues that I'd like to tinker with to sort. So apologies for the multiple posts, I just thought it would be easier to track this way.

My temperature control (hot/cold, direction and power) has issues with the backlighting. I believe the temperature slider should have some for of backlight bulb? How can I access this so I can replace the bulb?

Thanks in advance

If I remember if its the early version you'll need two tools that you would use to remove a radio and slide these into the slots in the 4 corners the control panel even then does not come forward very much. if you are feeling brave you can disconnect the control cables at the other end i.e there they go into the heater box and under bonnet where it controls the air circulation flap. this will give you a bit more room to get to the bulbs
