Bongo Fury

I'm due the next oil change soon.

I've got 6L of oil left from another car that I sold and was just wondering if I could use it in the bongo.

In the past I have used 5w30 or 10w40 as both were listed in the manual.

I have some 5w40 which was for a VW PD engine. Can I use that?

Logic would make me think I could as the 5w is just the viscosity in the cold which matches the 5w30. And the 40 is the viscosity when hot which matches the 10w40. So I would have thought it would be ok but thought I'd double check here first!

Full specs:

Fully synthetic 5w40 diesel PD

API SN/CF, ACEA C3, MB 229.31/229.51, BMW LL 04, Ford M2C-917-A, VW 502.00/505.01(PD), Porsche A40, GM DEXOS 2

That won't be a problem at all. The trick with the Bongo is to make sure it gets regularly changed. 5w/40 will be fine.

Oil and filter done today, was doing well until I took the filter out and spilled a load on the drive

I've spent a fair bit of time under it recently.

New brake discs and pads on the front
New front drop links
New rear ARB bushes
New exhaust mid section
New exhaust rear section

I've got front ARB bushes on the way. Hopefully that will be it for a while

I've got a drip tray, it was just in the wrong place when I removed the filter!

I didn't expect quite as much to come out. I quickly tiles the filter back to stop it leaking much but quite a lot came out of the engine after it was removed.
