bongo cutting out

Post by davied » Mon Jul 13, 2020 12:54 pm

hi guys, hope your all well. I have a problem with my 1997 v6 lpg/petrol bongo. the engine cuts out after a long run, usually when slowing down. when i try starting it again there is nothing, only when i leave it for at least 20 mins to cool down will it start again. the temp gauge is fine before it cuts out. it cuts out on lpg and petrol. it doesnt happen on every long run. I have seen previous related posts on forum but their bongo seems to start right away after cutting out, with mine there is nothing at all until it cools. hope you can help. davie

Could be a faulty ignition and spark system causing problems ? Check distributor, leads and spark plugs as a minimum.

Mine is a 2.5 v6 petrol strange it was fine today, it had this problem before I brought it a month ago. The trader had fitted a new crankshaft sensor I've driven it with no problems from Manchester to kent it's been my daily driver so not sure now
