Hello everyone, brand new member here... had out family bongo nearly 2 years now and taken it as far as Holland to date, we love it!!

However I'm just looking at repositioning the hatch, seen loads of ideas regarding reversing the inner roof or cutting it and creating a rear access hatch instead (the cat flap) but just wanted to ask something... Is the removal process just the gas struts and then the 13mm bolts which look to be holding the hinges to the roof? I can't see any other option but wanted to check before i crack on.

Cheers!! :D

Thank you both so much. Went for the split roof in the end, cut it just beyond the hatch hinges, strengthened the two parts with aluminium angle pieces riveted in, just need to source some lighter duty gas struts (To support the half-weight new cat flap) and add some felt trim and it’s done.

The help was invaluable, will post pics of finished article once done!

Hello
I picked up some grey self adhesive felt off Ebay, which I used to cover all the metal parts in the roof to stop condensation dripping onto us during the night. The colour match was perfect.
