Flat battery

I fitted a new leisure battery weekend before last, same make and model as previous one, been on a couple of short trips since and all fine.
Just got in bongy and main battery as flat as a pancake. Is this just a coincidence or could the new battery be causing the problem?

Possible the SB has failed due to an unrelated reason, or maybe something to do with fitting the new one. (Not very helpful, I know.)
Did you fit it yourself or could someone have shorted the connection (and blown a fuse) without your knowledge?
Will the SB hold a charge now?

Could you have left lights on or similar that would have flattened the SB ?
If you had damaged any fuse then its less likely to have drawn a current rather than cause the battery to go flat.

It’s on charge as I speak.
Myself and my son fitted it,and,as said,I have driven it a couple of times since with no problems.
Same age as leisure battery so maybe just need a new one.
Will charge it and see what happens.

Nothing left on to my knowledge.
Alarm did make a funny noise when I unlocked the doors though?

Once it's charged if you wait about an hour and check the voltage you should get about 12.6v.
Less than that indicates it isn't holding it's charge and may be stuffed.
You can get a variety of devices to check battery state, or your friendly car shop/garage will have one, though they will likely bee keen to sell you a replacement if yours is duff.
Geoff will have more detailed info.

Bongy started fine this morning after yesterday’s charge for about 3 hours.
It’s having it’s MOT Friday so can get it checked then.
Thanks to you both for your replies.
Always so reassuring to know that you are all out there.
