Flashing glow plug light after hill climb

2.5 diesel, 2000. Recently had engine reconditioned and new head. Been feeling rather weak on hill climbs since work was done (1000km ago) then yesterday got to top of a slow incline and glow plug light started flashing. Any idea what’s going on?

Didn’t overheat, coolant level all good, no obvious sign of a problem. AA disconnected battery to reset and that “fixed” the warning light. Drove home okay but still lacking the oomph it used to have.

Sounds like in "fixing" the problem the AA have erased the fault code which would have given a clue about possible problem causes.

Suggest you search on here for how to read fault codes and when it happens again try to get the code - armed with that there will be plenty of people who can help on this forum....

Ah dammit! Hadn’t thought of that. Would a garage be able to run a diagnostic check on it instead of me having to let it happen again?

Variable vane turbo on a 2000 model possibly? Could be sooted up and vanes sticking if so? Think i read some spraying oven cleaner into turbo as quick fix but best google for advice on wisdom of that!

It would be worthwhile checking / replacing all the filters, also have a look at the fuel cap breather valve.Have you contacted the people that reconed the engine ?...?
