Bongo Fury

Dear all,
I was looking to remove the roof hatch, or at least take it off the hinges, so making it easier to keep an eye on the kids when they sleep up there (they’re young enough to sleep across the roof space rather than lying lengthways). Does anyone know how to do this please? Or indeed any suggestions for alternatives, such as a half-roof hatch?

I found the pins were hardened so had to grind the heads of one end of each before being able to pull the pins out. Some have drilled the pop rivets out but I preferred the pin removal as I have kept them and when I sell it any new owners can make their own choice, also the hinges help keep the trap aligned more easily when you slide it to and fro.
