roof awning

Hi Folks,
Its been a long time away. Just need a bit of assistance please, My roof awning/tent not sure of the correct name has become unattached fro the raised roof section. the captive nut has dropped out of the roof does anybody know if you can but these captive nuts or what's the best adhesive to stick them back in ? Any info much appreciated

Yes you will probably find several getting weak, drop the top frame, hardest part of the job as the screws have anti-vibration compound on them, correct screw head and lots of torque whilst pushing up otherwise the heads will damage, just keep the pressure on for 30-60 seconds and the compound will eventually give. Then take the inserts off, clean them up and use Araldite or similar - put the glue on the back of the insert only, there is no air hole behind, then press into hole so that the glue pushes down the sides after it hits the back, otherwise you will trap air behind that will try to push the insert back out!
