Keys had been refusing to turn in the ignition, even after oiling, so had a replacement ignition barrel fitted. Replacement key now gets the ignition fired up straight away but gear stick is now really stiff to move in & out of Park & the key got stuck when ignition was turned off. Gear stick just isn't going back into park properly & garage have been really unhelpful - I don't think they know what to do. Told me to just cover the key that was stuck in the ignition with something

Couldn't even get the ignition turned off for about an hour when the key was stuck. Could it be the cable between the gearbox & igntion? Any help & advice much appreciated. Thank, Folks.

Oh dear.
I would suspect the cable that links the ignition with the gear selector.

Where are you based in case there's a garage near you that knows Bongos. As Bob has implied its hopefully just a cable adjustment issue

Hi - based in Birmingham. I try to go up to Ian Taylor for most things but it's a bit of a trek and it isn't always possible. A local garage was recommended by another Bongo owner so I gave them a try. Mistake!

Yes Ian Taylor is great. There's a very good mobile Bongo mechanic in your area. Cant remember his name but hopefully someone else will, or have a search.

I've an idea there's a Bongo garage at Harbury, sort of Leamington/Southam way, and does anyone remember if the mobile Bongo chap lives that way?

Really pleased the grey matter seems to still work, a bit, and with a prod from Bill.
He has a good reputation on here.

Did a bit of searching on here myself last night and a guy called Dave from Worcester Mobile Mechanics pops up as he does work for Phil at JAL in Worcester. Another name that has come into my head is i think Simon at Contracts Mechanics who people have takked about for years. So hopefully you can sort something with all those suggestions from Bob and me (aka Bill and Ben)

Yep,
Simon is our man on the link.
Dave, in Worcester, does Phil's work, ours came from Phil and Dave did the pre-collection work, just by Shrub Hill station.
But... He's so busy he often can't take on extra work, however, well worth asking.
