Bongo Fury

Hello all.
Well, I've looked at all the places I can think of and can't appear to find any standard rear springs for the Bongo.
Mine are quite rusty and I'd like to replace them.
We have the Airlift bags fitted and it's a diesel.
Any advice before I trot down to the local Mazda dealer to see if they can help?

However I've thought about those and don't think they would work with the Airlift as the coils get narrow at the end.

Hi Tony, that is the design of the coil springs, you will find that the rear springs on your vehicle will be the same ,unless some upper mounting modification has been carried out but I doubt it.

On my motorbike, I fitted bespoke progressive suspension springs, and they weren't at all expensive although handling hugely improved. I wonder if Bongo would benefit too at a reasonable cost. There are many manufacturers listed, but as an example springcoil.co.uk will make them up.

A point to note is that uprated springs should be advised to insurers as they are a material change - as are air-lift - however our insurers just noted they are fitted and the premium was not affected

I hadn't considered progressive springs although I too fitted one to the rear shock of a motorbike and went to great lengths to do so, eventually importing one from USA.
However I'm not sure the benefits to fitting such to a Bongo would be worth the extra cost considering the airlift make the rear suspension effectively a dual rate set up.
