More headlight problems 2001 V6

Got the old bulbs out and removed the headlight units to get the Osrams in. As others have said, getting them out via removing the grill makes it very easy.

Part of the reason for me doing this was the nearside headlight dropped out from time to time but could be coaxed back to life by pushing the connector in.

However now what I've got is a very dim headlight on the nearside. It's on but just dim. In fact even the sidelight on the nearside is dim compared to the offside bulb.

So the nearside Osram is obviously okay, there is power getting to the unit but I'm just wondering why it is so dim? I'm guessing a bad earth somewhere?

Any thoughts?

The original H4 connectors often corrode and then overheat which takes the spring out of the contacts best if that is the case to replace with new ceramic H4 connectors from ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from ... s&_sacat=0
Also do check the earth/chassis connection for the bulbs they have been known to corrode as well.

Thanks for that Geoff, ordered.

Don't suppose you happen to know where the earth/chassis connection for the bulbs is do you?
