Looks OE as the pattern on the dash seems to match the unit......is it a mpg/fuel usage calculator? I think the general message would be 'refuel'

Yes its the original sonar system, it shows three corners of the car (not front drivers side) and then two directly backwards when you engage reverse and also the mirror shows the display in the rear of the van (jutting down from roof) giving you measured distance.
I have one as well and along with the added camera find it very handy!

Now that would have been a useful spec to have had.

Yes its quite nice, all the distances are actually shown as well so you can see how close your getting to a wall fence etc. not just that your close! The later versions post 2002 I suspect went to a much simpler system which I believe just beeps when close.

Thanks for confirming. I saw it on a Bongo for sale and thought it looked neat. I have fitted an after market reverse camera linked to the head unit that also activates by selecting reverse. Can’t bring myself to drill holes in the bumper to add the sonars / beepers. In hindsight the Bongo probably beeps enough already.
